Job Overview:
Hearst Magazines is hiring a Video Producer to join the Central Video Team. This person will be producing high-quality video content across all of our Magazine brands, primarily focusing on Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR and Women’s Health.
The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, be capable of balancing multiple projects simultaneously, and will be a problem-solver who is quick on their feet. This role will be collaborating with various teams across many different verticals and magazines, so the ability to quickly pivot, work well with others, and adapt to many different aesthetics and working styles is a must. The ideal candidate is also a pop culture whiz who will also bring fresh ideas and creative expertise to all projects they work on.
This position will report to the Director of East Coast Video.

Job Responsibilities:
- Produce and direct shoots both in studio and on location
- Book and coordinate crew and talent
- Direct and produce talent of all levels and status (must be comfortable with A-list talent)
- Pre-produce all creative packets ahead of shoots, tailoring creative to individual talent to generate buzzy or viral moments
- Work closely with Director of Video and Executive Producers to brainstorm new franchises and series
- Coordinate crew logistics, transportation, talent releases and media delivery for production
- Work closely with Line Producers to adhere to budgets and secure proper insurance/documentation for shoots
- Support Executive Producers in reviewing cuts, strategically identifying social cutdowns
- Work closely with post-production and graphics teams to ensure all deliverables requirements are met
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years minimum experience in video production and fast-paced sets
- Experience in short-form video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc) a HUGE PLUS)
- Must have experience directing celebrity talent on set
- The ideal candidate will be pop-culture obsessed, up to date on the latest digital trends
- The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and a quick problem-solver with a thick skin who can manage a range of personality types
- Must have excellent communication and organization skills
- Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and tight budgets
- Must be a team player who thrives on teamwork and collaboration, who can manage many different working styles and personalities
- Experience in editorial video a HUGE PLUS
- This is a hybrid role that will require you to work in-office and on-set as needed
- Must be available to work flexible hours
The base salary for this role is between $70,000 and $75,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
