Video Producer

We are looking for candidates in Atlanta Ga, New York or Los Angeles

This role will report our Executive Director, Editorial to pitch ideas, write scripts, source footage, and work closely with a video editor and editorial team. The Video Producer provides general support, which includes production coordination and managing production calendars. This candidate must also coordinate with editorial staff and other departments to make sure assets are delivered on time and in the right format. As the go-to point of contact for various shoots and projects, this role must collaborate and work well with people and teams across the EBONY brand and be able to quickly pivot and adapt to many different aesthetics and working styles.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

• Oversee all EBONY Editorial video components and original video that will translate into compelling video storytelling.
• Develop new creative and engaging video topics/ideas/franchises from ideation to conception that will live across content verticals (EBONY.com, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook),
• Manage all stages of video development and elements needed for all various video edits that support written pieces on EBONY.com.
• Able to work with A-List talent and develop captivating questions and concepts for video interviews.
• Communicate with editor on necessary deliverables.
• Research and assist in writing treatments for different video formats (shortform, digital, and longform)
• Write graphics for video (and provide research sources as needed)
• Assist in preparing shoot schedules + sending out call sheets.
• Assist in the management of booking/hiring/overseeing of freelance producers.
• Manage post-production by overseeing edits delivered to Executive Director, Editorial (give notes and feedback on various edits, GFX, etc.)
• Assist with booking travel for talent and crew as needed.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining budgets/expenses for video shoots.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years minimum experience in digital production environment
• Strong script writing skills and a keen eye for design.
• Able to work off video transcripts and timecodes.
• Up to date on upcoming trends/topics/social media platforms
• Must have excellent communication and organization skills.
• Must have an exceptional attention to detail and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
• Must be a team player who thrives on teamwork and collaboration.
• Must be available to work flexible hours.
