The Video and Audio Editor -

The Video and Audio Editor oversees post-production for podcast episodes, managing distribution across platforms, maintaining detailed show archives, and providing video content creation for social media platforms. This position involves editing podcasts and videos, optimizing content for maximum impact, meeting deadlines and staying updated on industry trends and technological advancements. Proficiency in editing software, familiarity with distribution platforms, attention to detail, and a creative edge are essential for success in this multifaceted role.

The ideal candidate for this role is a creative and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills. Adaptability, self-motivation, and a passion for storytelling are essential. Being deadline-driven and proactive, along with flexibility and ability to problem-solve, are also crucial attributes for success in this important position.

What You Will Be Doing -

Podcast Production and Management

  • Oversee the complete post-production process of podcast episodes
  • Provide ongoing consultation and assistance to hosts and producers
  • Manage the upload, publication, and distribution of episodes on RSS feeds, our website, and various podcast platforms
  • Maintain the archival process for each show, including show notes, transcripts, and Audio/video edits
  • Upload and post edited shows and videos to various platforms, including YouTube and Art19
  • Provide support for setting up and recording in-person or remote interviews as needed (though rare)
  • Be able to work ahead on edits, sometimes delivering episodes and assets days or weeks in advance of publishing
  • Utilize necessary third-party applications like Chartable for production, tracking, and analytics to optimize performance and reach

Video Content Creation and Editing

  • Create engaging and attention-grabbing video content tailored for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Edit face-to-camera footage and incorporate compelling b-roll to enhance storytelling and message delivery
  • Optimize videos for social media algorithms and trends, ensuring maximum reach and impact
  • Employ creative editing strategies and pacing to maintain viewer interest and anticipation throughout both Video and podcast content
  • Craft videos and podcasts that inspire action and audience engagement
  • Utilize AI-powered tools and techniques for enhancing Video and Audio quality, noise reduction, and voiceover synthesis
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest AI advancements and integrate them into content creation to maintain a competitive edge
  • Maintain ownership of production methods, files, systems, and processes

What It Takes / Requirements -

  • 5+ years experience in Video and Audio editing
  • Experience creating social media ads highly preferred
  • Portfolio or work samples required when applying
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Audacity, Descript or similar tools
  • Familiarity with RSS feeds, website content management, and podcast distribution platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of podcasting and social media industry trends and best practices
  • Experience with sound design, AI integration, and visual effects is a plus

Compensation -

Based on this position and the requirements above we are offering a yearly salary of $80k.
