DescriptionRole: Vice President, Operational Risk FrameworkLocation: New York, NYBackground on the PositionThis role will reside within the Firm's Operational Risk Department, focusing on the Operational Risk Framework (Inc. Stress testing and CCAR)Operational Risk refers to the risk of financial or other loss, or potential damage to a firm's reputation, resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from external events (e.g., fraud, legal and compliance risks or damage to physical assets). The Firm may incur Operational Risk across the full scope of its business activities, including revenue-generating activities (e.g., sales and trading) and control groups (e.g., information technology and trade processing).Primary Responsibilities> Assist in execution of the Operational Risk Framework; support components of the Framework including Risk Identification, Operational Risk Incidents, Issues and Actions, Operational Risk Taxonomy, Emerging Risks, etc.> Oversee the Operational Risk quarterly stress testing and annual CCAR submissions (incl. production, adherence to Firm wide stress testing Policies, Governance, documentation, and reporting).> Manage relationship and co-ordination with broader Firm Risk Management, Risk Analytics, Finance and Treasury in support of Capital Planning> Assist in the execution of Operational Risk Framework monitoring, reporting and associated governance/escalation, including consideration of stress testing and CCAR impacts, as the broader framework evolves> Analyze and monitor Operational Risk data sets to assess the Firm's risk profile and identify themes> Create, monitor, and present program metrics and reports to summarize status for various senior management committees> Create clear, concise, and insightful materials in support of Senior Management reporting> Monitor industry developments in the management of Operational Risk> Participate in and provide ongoing support for audit and regulatory reviews and inquiriesQualificationsExperience> An undergraduate degree (B.A., B.S., or equivalent) required> 5+ years of experience in Operational Risk / Enterprise Risk Management> Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to present ideas concisely and persuasively> Ability to work on challenging assignments in a dynamic environment, synthesize information, distill relevant facts and reach logical conclusions> Experience in supporting Operational Risk Capital Planning or Basel Capital processes> Displayed ability to influence stakeholders and drive projects through to completion> Excellent analytical skills and a strong ability to work with large data files and spreadsheets> Highly motivated self-starter with multi-tasking abilities, and the ability to meet tight deadlines with conflicting agendas> Flexibility willingness to work on associated initiatives to deliver the Operational Risk framework> Ability to multitask and prioritize> Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlinesMorgan Stanley is committed to creating and providing opportunities that enable our workforce to reflect diverse backgrounds and views.Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 110000 and 190000 per year at the commencement of employment.
