The Vice President of Sustainability will lead Andersen’s sustainability program guidance and management, performance and reporting, and internal and external stakeholder engagement. S/he will bring expertise, credibility, and a perspective, to continue the expansion of Sustainability initiatives across the business.

Andersen focuses on four sustainability objectives:

  • Procuring materials responsibly in partnership with our suppliers.
  • Minimizing the impact of our manufacturing and distribution operations with more than 99 percent of all incoming material utilized productively.
  • Designing and building our products to minimize the environmental footprint, while maximizing both energy efficiency and durability.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the development, evolution, and integration of the company’s sustainability strategy in line with purpose, vision and values, and the commercial strategy.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance to stakeholders within Andersen for all aspects of ESG strategy and associated programs, policies, and reporting.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and tracking of Sustainability performance indicators by ensuring the business has the right tools, capabilities, and processes in place; Establish and set targets, milestones, and broader plans.
  • Lead internal and external communications regarding the company’s ESG program and achievements.
  • Identify, champion, and own key strategic partnerships, including the identification of opportunities to partner with suppliers and customers, and community engagement opportunities to advance Andersen’s ESG goals.
  • Maintain strong knowledge and understanding of Sustainability, with a broad understanding of the latest trends, impacts to operations, and opportunities for continued enhancement and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

The successful Vice President of Sustainability candidate will be a results-oriented professional who has developed and managed similar, diverse ESG / Sustainability programs of scale, with demonstrated excellence and proven capability of creating, implementing, and tracking, sustainability initiatives and programs. They will have excellent interpersonal, organization, and management skills, with a natural ability to build trust, inspire people, and foster responsibility. S/he will have a desire to build upon, and improve, existing ESG processes and will be an energetic, collaborative leader inspired by their purpose. It is critical for this individual to be an advocate for, and to create an inclusive and diverse work culture.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and experience operating in the rapidly evolving landscape of ESG regulation and reporting standards; Technical and environmental knowledge of building, construction, or building materials industry is highly desired.
  • Commercial and pragmatic ability to formulate and implement strategy, identify, and realize organic and inorganic growth opportunities and partnerships.
  • Ability to drive a high level of engagement within a matrixed organization.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate and deliver a vision that inspires others and brings them together to deliver sustainable growth and change.
  • A long-term fiduciary mindset, with a passion for excellence, client experience, the business and existing and new products to realize new opportunities.
  • Data-driven mindset and an aptitude for technology
  • Intellectually curious; focused on continual experimentation, learning, and opportunity identification
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required. Masters/advanced degree preferred.

Please note: This role is a hybrid position and requires three days on-site.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
