Our client is seeking an individual who brings a proven record of success in developing and implementing comprehensive Business Development strategies to generate sustainable revenue and profitability growth within aerospace and defense domestic and international markets.

The Vice President of Business Development plays a key role in driving strategic direction and growth. This role reports directly to the President of the company.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the complex challenges and opportunities in aerospace and defense markets. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive Business Development plans, with the ability to identify and capture new opportunities in aerospace and defense markets.

The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 401K, and Tuition Reimbursement. We offer a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and flexible work options for most positions.


Responsibilities:

  1. Provide executive leadership and management of the Company's Business Development organization including marketing, sales, capture management, marketing communications, product line and corporation strategic planning functions.
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive Business Development strategies to generate sustainable revenue growth.
  3. Assess potential new markets, evaluate business opportunities, and develop strategies for targeting potential customers.
  4. Provide the Company's President timely, accurate, and trustworthy advice on Business Development opportunities and issues.
  5. As a member of the Company's Executive Staff team, work closely and effectively with peers to advance Company's business strategic, operational, and tactical goals and objectives.
  6. Frequently brief the President and CEO on key Business Development opportunities and activities.
  7. Oversees the development of proposals for new business opportunities.
  8. Develops and maintains a 5-year business capture pipeline providing sustained and profitable growth.
  9. Develops and maintains a 5-year strategic plan and product roadmap.
  10. Develops and maintains the successful achievement of annual fiscal year plan bookings targets.
  11. Develops and maintains the successful achievement of annual fiscal year plan new product and customer contract awards.

Required Skills:

Critical Competencies:

  1. Proven background developing business with US aerospace and defense primes, US DoD branches, and foreign prime and MoD customers.
  2. Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems and motion systems expertise preferred but PNT expertise a must.
  3. Develop strategies for assessing customer needs and positioning the organization’s products and services as preferred solutions.
  4. Proven record of success capturing key programs and opportunities leading to profitable revenue growth for aerospace and defense organizations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop a growth-oriented vision, inspire teams to follow that vision, and lead/manage Business Development team to success capturing new business opportunities.
  6. Ability to recruit and retain high-performing Business Development professionals.
  7. Ability to develop, lead, and sustain best-in-class Business Development processes.
  8. Ability to lead comprehensive proposals.

Salary Range - $200,000 - $250,000
