The Role
We are looking for a Vice President to join our leading Healthcare Media Relations team. You will lead Earned Media across various fantastic accounts within our sizeable healthcare practice.
Our healthcare clients are in need of senior level earned media expertise and counsel as you partner with them to develop their overall strategic earned media vision. On top of leading these client relationships you will also be managing a team of high-performing Media Relations specialists who will look to you for mentorship and guidance.
What you’ll do as you move with us:
- Partner directly with the EVP of Earned Media and the rest of Healthcare media team to lead all aspects of a high performing Media Relations team inside of large healthcare PR practice
- Lead the strategic planning process for both our clients and the earned media team as a whole
- Demonstrate an expertise in healthcare Media Relations while representing the Media Relations team to both internal and external stakeholders
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with our clients by providing strategic counsel and a mastery of all aspects of client management
- Represent the Media Relations team to internal and external stakeholders
- Help to further develop our healthcare offering, capabilities and growth trajectory
- Flesh out ideas as they relate to client objectives and learn how to bring them to life in presentations and written proposals
- Lead and mentor junior team members to build a culture of high performance
Experience that contributes to your success:
- 8+ years of healthcare Media Relations experience with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry landscape including products, clients, and related media outlets
- PR agency experience strongly preferred; newsroom experience a plus
- Experience leading earned media for complex, large-scale pharmaceutical accounts
- Excellent storyteller with a rich rolodex of related media contacts with top-tier print, broadcast and digital influencers
- Proven success working on wide-spread integrated campaigns
- Passion, sense of urgency and attention to detail on large accounts with significant and constant moving parts
- Strong client relationship skills and experience working with high-touch clients
- Experience managing large programs from start to finish
- Ability to work with vendors and manage out of pocket budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with strong attention to detail
- Desire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization as an active participant in culture initiatives, training opportunities and employee resource groups
- Please note that the anticipated hire date targeted for this role is for Q1 of 2024

In New York City, the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $90,000.00 to $180,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
