The VP of Global Strategy is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and driving company strategy to ensure Wella's sustained market leadership. This role leads the Strategy function and focuses on developing a customer and consumer-centric growth agenda in an exciting growth category.
Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, this individual will drive innovative growth and value creation by identifying, developing, and planning future-facing business opportunities, including market, category, business model, operating excellence, and capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of enterprise, functional, and regional strategy
- Work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and Leadership team to develop a strategic vision
- Frame and articulate strategic questions to be answered
- Orchestrate the sourcing, scoping, and execution of a robust pipeline of strategy projects
- Develop a data-driven and rigorous approach to identify strategic options and recommendations
- Working closely with business partner SME’s, co-create business plans and pro-formas tailored to the position of the company and industry
- Ensure our work meets a high bar for rigor, logic, and executability
- Translate enterprise strategy into value-creation goals, initiatives, operating metrics, and trackable results
- Create an integrated business foresight and market analysis capability
- Develop publications and services that improve the strategic thinking and decision making
- Establish and leverage multiple internal and external sources of data
- Develop strategy content for a diverse audience of stakeholders
- Communicate strategies and concepts in ways that drive newfound clarity, energy, and inspiration for leaders and business partners
- Develop board content
- Lead the corporate strategic planning process
- Plan and optimize the annual flow of deliverables and key dates
- Prepare materials and guidance
- Collaborate with VP Transformation to assess continual on-strategy execution and value delivery
- Collaborate closely with business partners and the Leadership Team
- Build a robust and inspired function
- Recruit excellent strategic leaders and teammates that enhance our culture and capabilities
- Hire, engage, and lead Strategy and Market Intelligence teams
- Build magnetic career paths by partnering with other functional leaders
- Establish functional Strategy excellence, including business case methodology
Qualifications
- Total 10-15 years of experience in top-tier Management consulting, plus corporate and/or or brand strategy roles. Experience interacting with Private Equity a plus. MBA required.
- Required: 5+ years post MBA in top-tier Management Consulting firm
- Expertise in developing top Consumer Brands and CPG growth strategies, with at least 2 years in luxury, beauty, fashion or wine/spirits
- In-depth knowledge of consumer product and/or beauty industry, including market trends, consumer intelligence, and competitive/financial landscape analysis
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful growth strategies based in advanced framing, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Deep experience in driving successful end-to-end projects with efficiency and effectiveness
- Financial acumen – understands financial analysis/working knowledge of financial statements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Excellent ability to articulate sharp insights and answers from qualitative and quantitative data
- Great organizational navigation skills, understands how to interact across functions

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: $300,000-350,000 base salary per year.
