Reporting to the Chief of Park Operations, the Vice President for Landscape Management and Horticulture (“VP”) leads several important teams in the care and management of Central Park’s plants and horticulture, as well as related support services and administrative functions. The VP is a key member of the Conservancy’s Senior Leadership Team and works to create and maximize opportunities for collaboration across departments and functions.
The VP is responsible for ensuring that the Park’s landscapes, horticulture, and other assets are maintained to the highest level of care, remain in line with the Park’s original design intent, and are managed with a cohesive vision throughout the Park. The work is highly collaborative and requires regular interface with other departments across the Conservancy. Responsibilities include management of the Park’s landscapes, natural areas, trees, turf, water bodies, and gardens, in addition to management of the Conservancy’s Five Borough Crew that supports New York City Parks in other locations across the city.
