This position is responsible for all aspects of the finances including the Office of Financial Aid and the Business Office which consists of the Assistant Vice-President of Finance and Administration/Controller, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Payroll, Purchasing, and Technology. The position is also responsible for Facilities, Security and Food Services. The Vice President ensures the accurate interpretation and analysis of financial results while providing analyses and justification of budgets, forecasts and long-range plans. The Vice President is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of administrative systems to support the general operations of the University. The mission of the University is to prepare a diverse population of lifelong learners intellectually, socially, spiritually, and personally through providing interactive services and using varied modalities of instructional delivery.Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications•Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance/ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance •A minimum of 10 years of increasingly more senior financial experience•Preferred experience in the Finance and technology functions of higher education•Extensive knowledge of PowerFaids, G-5, Common Organization Disbursements and other federal and state systems and implementation practices•Familiarity with Jenzabar EX•Intimate knowledge of and personal involvement with financial and administrative systems and methodologies for Federal and State Government•Excellent knowledge of all aspects banking, cash management•First-hand experience with negotiating and establishing financing arrangements•Experience with managing investor relations•Familiarity with reporting, filing and compliance requirements of securities commissions and regulatory bodies•Strong management and delegation skills•Strong leadership ability•Presentation skills•Ability to translate financial and technical terms into understandable terms for non-financial and non-technical constituencies•Ability to understand, recommend and implement operational systems of the institutionRole and Responsibilities•Set institutional financial objectives in cooperation with President, policy and practice•Maintain an internal control system to ensure that financial transactions are based upon established procedures•Oversee the development and preparation of all monthly and annual financial reports for the President of the University and the Board of Trustees and other reports as required. •Coordinate the annual audit, including supplying auditors with all necessary information. •Prepare the Management Discussion and Analysis (MDA) component of the audit. •Distribute audited financial statements to banks, rating agencies, clearinghouses, governmental entities, and other stakeholders•Present and discuss monthly financial statements at board meetings, to cabinet, and other stakeholders as designated by the President•Direct the development implementation, operation, maintenance and control of essential business, information and operations support systems.•Appropriate resources acquisition and application•Responsible for Jenzabar and other systems, such as voice and data communications, essential to the functioning of the University•Interact with internal and external constituencies on budgeting, auditing, and other matters•Analyze budgets and forecasts•Support and be responsive to both setting priorities and resolving issues consistence with internal requirements•Ability to assimilate, evaluate and correlate associated risk/benefit trade-offs and their relative impact on affected units of the University•Accountable for the implementation of new systems and major modifications to existing systems•Maintain high-level interaction with the President and other administrative staff•Advise President on financial and technology-related issues•Coordinate implementation and maintenance of application software by developing partnerships with vendors, technical resources providers and other University•Other duties assigned
