Pay Transparency Statement:

We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.

Position Summary:
The Vice President, Corporate Affairs develops and implements Corporate Affairs’ strategies, inclusive of government relations, communications, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This position develops and implements new strategies that create a competitive advantage for the company and ensures these strategies align with the overall purpose, vision, and values of the company. The Vice President, Corporate Affairs is a spokesperson for the company and ensures the integration and consistency of messaging to numerous stakeholders, inclusive of employees, customers, community partners, elected officials, etc. The Vice President, Corporate Affairs translates business goals into measurable results through the successful development and execution of Corporate Affairs’ strategies.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Lead and manage the company’s strategy for Corporate Affairs’ strategies and activities, inclusive of government relations, communications, and CSR in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Partner with Reyes Holdings to ensure the company’s Corporate Affairs’ activities, inclusive of government relations, communications, and CSR, are aligned to the enterprise-wide Corporate Affairs strategy
  • Develop, manage and maintain high-level relationships with a wide variety of industry and non-industry stakeholders who are in a position to promote actions favorable to the company, inclusive of customers, trade associations, NGOs, community partners, elected officials, etc.
  • Develop state and local advocacy plans to advance the company’s policy positions and issue solutions in partnership with the non-alcoholic beverage industry, while protecting the interests of the business and implementing strategies to succeed
  • Develop and lead government relations strategies/programs to ensure access to policy makers/influencers and that government actions are aligned with the company’s goals
  • Develop and execute external and internal communications strategy to build and drive the company’s brand and voice, including crisis communications
  • Oversee the company’s CSR strategy, inclusive of external and internal communications, which highlight the company’s CSR commitment and progress made in CSR focus areas
  • Oversee the company’s community outreach strategy, ensuring partnerships align to business needs and objectives
  • Track all matters of interest, provide analysis of legislative or proposed regulations and update important stakeholders on subsequent action
  • Track and inform company of all matters of interest, especially those that could affect the company’s reputation and/or social license to operate
  • Develop and manage strategies and best practices to ensure a consistent and successful management approach to matters of interest
  • Provide counsel to the company on government relations’ trends, challenges, opportunities, etc.
  • Develop, manage, and deliver key messages to important stakeholder audiences that clearly define and communicate the company’s strategic business priorities as well as promote the company’s brands and programs
  • Other projects or duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 15 plus years of experience in government relations, public affairs and community relations and 8 plus years of people leadership experience
  • Experience working with and earning the trust and confidence of high-profile corporate leaders and serving as a trusted advisor
  • Experience working with and/or for elected officials
  • Access and established relationships with lawmakers, regulators, and officials
  • Experience working with trade and business associations
  • Ability to develop a strong network of industry peers and associates
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent influencing, collaboration and interpersonal skills with all levels of an organization
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience building strategic and operational plans
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience delivering high-volume and high-quality work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, matrixed organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Excel, etc.
  • Travel up to 50%
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working with and/or for elected officials in California
  • Access and established relationships with lawmakers, regulators, and officials in California
  • Internal and external communications experience
  • Budget management experience
  • Brand management experience
  • Experience in the food and/or beverage industry
