Hometown Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.As a Veterinary Tech you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Hometown Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.As a Veterinary Tech you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Extensive animal handling and client interactions
- Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures (e.g., collect samples, draw blood, and administer injections) and properly restrain patients
- Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments in the manner prescribed by the veterinarian
- Perform diagnostic tests and x-rays
- Leading, assisting, and training the Veterinary Technician team in daily tasks
- Fostering a collaborative and positive environment
- Obtain patient history and provide client education
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
Qualifications & Skills:
- Registered Vet Tech preferred or at least two years of recent experience in a veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities.
- Experience with Veterinary Tech duties
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision
- Demonstrates the ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion while maintaining a commitment to outstanding client service
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Able to stay on task and work energetically for entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day
- Collaborates with others to foster a productive, professional, and positive work environment
- Maintains punctual and reliable attendance
- Understands and fairly applies policies and practices
- Works efficiently and independently when needed
- Be willing to mentor, guide, and support fellow team members
