Veterinary Technician Or Assistant

Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialty Referral Clinic seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team.

Location: Murrieta, CA 92562

We are a busy single veterinarian specialty referral clinic looking to expand our team with place for a motivated, high energy, positive, versatile team player that is comfortable in a busy clinical setting and able to stay focused and on task in a fast-paced practice that required multi-tasking and able to prioritize duties, whilst being flexible enough to adapt to changing work tasks as required.

Veterinary Assistant Tasks may include: performing routine eye tests on patients, examination room preparation; communicating effectively with clients to promote compliance with treatment plans; data entry in medical records exam records, assisting with collection and processing of laboratory samples; the ability to work calmly and safely with animals of various species including exotic pets and horses if needed, safe animal restraint; assisting with patient preparation for surgical patients and learning; operating room set up; basic introduction to anesthetic monitoring; surgical instrument care, and surgical sterilization; assisting with medication refills. In patient care and husbandry. Maintaining hospital hygiene. Some front desk tasks will be included in training process.

Requirements: Complete 3-month probation/ training period prior to receiving benefits and any pay increases.

Salary: Introductory level around $16.00.

Higher salary commensurate with certified technician experience or equivalent.

Essentials:

• Reliable transportation.
• English language- medical and business/professional fluency.
• Computer and Key Boarding skills,
• Experience with Computers, Faxes, Business phones, Printers, scanners, card processing.
• Excellent telephone skills and Client communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of some medical terminology and the ability to learn quickly.
• Customer service orientated.
• Physically able to lift 25-50 pounds. Receive and unpack supplies and shipping boxes.
• Physically able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Driver’s license and clean driving record and Insurance.
• DRUG, ALCOHOL, SMOKING AND VAPING FREE ENVIRONMENT.
• Dress Code compliant. Uniforms provided.
• OSHA compliant.
• Veterinary Technician experience: 1 year (Minimum)

Work Location: On site only. No remote or Offsite duties available.
