Are you a passionate and driven Veterinary Technician that not only loves animals, but would also like to help better the community as well?
We are actively seeking hardworking, skilled, and most of all motivated vet techs to join our shelter veterinary department. Our technicians are responsible for all medical aspects of the various species cared for by the Humane Society; such as dogs, cats, birds, small animals, exotics, and livestock. Daily medical tasks include (but are not limited to) medication administration, vaccinations, physical exams, wound care, anesthetic and surgical monitoring and recovery, performing humane euthanasia by injection, various diagnostic procedures including phlebotomy/microscopic examinations/lab work, assisting shelter veterinarians with exams and procedures, daily cleaning and upkeep of tech areas, maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, and much more.
Ideal candidates are required to have minimum of 2 years consistent technician experience, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced and occasionally high stress environment, and a positive attitude. Experience in shelter medicine and/or a high volume spay/neuter clinic is a plus but not required.
