Diagnostic Imaging Service at VCA Aurora:
At VCA Aurora, we utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including state-of-the-art imaging, to more quickly and accurately arrive at diagnosis of a medical condition and thus develop the treatment protocol for a patient faster. In addition, our hospital's board-certified specialists in veterinary radiology have advanced training and years of experience in this highly-specialized area. This ensures that your pet will receive only the best medical care and attention.
Our Diagnostic Imaging department provides expert service in radiographs, MRI, Fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound.
Imaging Veterinary Technician Job Duties
As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so they will partner with us for the lifelong care of their companion animals. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
- Independently perform diagnostic radiology, CT and MRI studies under the direction of the board-certified specialist.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of computer systems, and hospital software.
- Review patient medical information and prepare patient for procedures following proper screening and care protocols.
- Coordinate patient flow through the specialty departments, assisting in duties necessary to expedite service.
- Train and monitor technical associates on all aspects of CT equipment.
- Consistently follow safety procedures in accordance with safety standards, immediately reporting any hazards or accidents.
- Assist Specialty, Emergency and Critical Care, and Primary Care Services with Diagnostic Imaging
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment.
- Comfortable handling canines and felines
- Ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 30- 40 pounds
- 2 + years experience with radiology (x- rays)
- Knowledge of canine and feline anatomy
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, Monday- Friday, 9 a.m. -5:30 pm.
Compensation:
The starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field/specialty. Financial growth opportunities available.
Upon complete training with the service (commonly three - six months), associates will train to perform on-call duties (MRI and CT Scans) . Bonuses apply!
