Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures
- Take and develop radiographs (x-rays)
- Provide animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
- Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment of their animals
- Maintain accurate records of patient care
Requirements:
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology or equivalent experience preferred
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and animal restraint
- Knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary medicine
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
