Job Summary
The Veterinary receptionist plays a vital role in our veterinary clinic. This position provides primary administrative and organizational support to the veterinary team while creating a professional and emotionally comfortable environment for the public.
Essential Job Functions
· Welcome clients with their pets to the clinic in a friendly and courteous manner.
· Check-in/out clients for appointments and discharge.
· Answers telephone calls and return e-mails.
· Process payment transactions.
· Prepare surgical consent forms
· Schedule appointments using our designated software
· Ensure a pleasant respectful and productive relationship with Veterinarian and all team members.
· Demonstrate strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
· Work patiently with distressed, frustrated or disgruntled clients.
· Maintains appearance of reception area including availability of brochures and other supplies.
· Ensure updated registration forms are on file and informs clients of expected wait time.
Computer Skills
· Must be able to use multiple platforms to meet business needs including Vetter, OneNote, Kennel connection, Gingr, When I Work and Microsoft office software.
· Must be able to learn and easily adapt to new technology.
Qualifications
· 3-5 years in an office setting in customer service and/or reception capacity.
· Professional animal care experience is strongly preferred.
· Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
· Highly organized. Able to multitask in a fast paced setting.
· Strong computer experience.
· Comfortable interacting with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes.
· Passionate about animal welfare. Treats all animals with compassion and kindness
· Follow rotating work schedule.
· Reliable and dependable. Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
· Strong work ethic. Set high standards for self and others
Education
· Associate degree preferred
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
