Position Overview: As the Veterinary Technician Learning & Development Clinical Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in both learning and development (75%) and clinical supervision (25%). Collaborating with local hospital teams, you will contribute to the planning, organization, and directing the clinical training and professional development of all Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. The L&D supervisor works as an on-the-floor Technician while facilitating learning opportunities for fellow Technicians and Veterinary Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate hands-on clinical skills training for Veterinary Assistants and Technicians.
- Plan and present in-service training with the support of the larger L&D Team.
- Track training modules for all technician levels within the hospital.
- Provide input into the Technician protocol development and standardization process.
- Directly train Veterinary Assistants and Technicians in accordance with written protocols.
- Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors on learning and development plans for staff.
- Work with local teams on agenda planning and support for continuing education events.
- Foster a learning-friendly environment consistent with Ethos mission, vision, and values.
- Assist in leading clinical and administrative teams for assigned departments.
- Ensure high-quality, comprehensive, accessible, supportive, and personalized care.
- Evaluate patient/client and staff data to support exceptional patient and client care.
- Collaborate with staff at all levels to streamline service delivery without compromising care.
- BA/BS preferred.
- Certified, Licensed, or Registered Veterinary Technician designation is essential. VTS preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as a veterinary technician preferred.
- Proficient in basic, intermediate, and advanced technical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teaching skills are essential.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
- Personnel management experience preferred.
- Primarily days, but some nights/weekends for L&D purposes
