Veterinary Kennel Assistant

Pinecrest Animal Hospital in Owosso is seeking skilled Kennel Assistants to join our growing small animal practice. We are a fast paced and progressive 3 doctor practice providing a wide variety of services from routine vaccines and health exams to performing advanced surgical and dental procedures with state of the art digital x-ray and full in-house laboratory in a modern facility. Applicant must be able to effectively communicate with clients and other team members in a professional manner and will be responsible for client education including discussing medical treatments and at home care. Job Summary

Busy 3 doctor small animal hospital looking to hire an experienced Part-time or Full-Time Kennel Assistant. Must be self motivated and have a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Knowledge of AVImark is a plus. Must be able to work rotating Saturdays. Veterinary, Boarding, or Doggy Day Care experience a major plus.

Responsibilities and Duties

• -Maintaining hospital cleanliness inside and outside the facility, keeping supplies stocked and ready for use
• -Assist the doctor and technicians as needed with patient restraint
• -Assist with cleaning and processing surgical instruments
• -Maintain a clean and sterile hospital environment
• -Maintain a happy, collaborative and positive attitude under stressful situations
• -Ability to learn new veterinary software and accurately update medical records as needed
• -Ability to restrain dogs and cats safely and securely
• -Capable of lifting large dogs
• -Ability to follow instruction
• -Other tasks as designated and required

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
