Kennel Assistant

Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Attendant wanted:
We are a busy Animal Hospital in the Muskegon/Spring Lake area looking for someone to join our team. We need someone who is interested in the veterinary field and is ready to put in some effort and move up in our team.
This is a part time position. Applicants must be available evenings and weekends, including holidays, on a rotating basis. Usual hours include 2 nights a week and every other weekend. The position available includes daily feeding, medicating, and walking of pets staying in the hospital. It includes helping the veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with restraint, setting up lab samples, getting medications together, stocking of supplies and many more additional tasks. Must have reliable transportation, be comfortable with animals, this can be a physical job so must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, be a team player and work well with others, be comfortable taking instruction from co-workers, and have a desire to learn more about our field. The position also includes nightly cleaning so applicant needs to be ready to show attention to detail and help keep our facility clean.
An ideal candidate would be someone interested in going into the veterinary field, or someone already enrolled in college toward such a field.
This is an entry level position with possibilities of advancement in the work place based on performance and interest shown.
