Veterinary Assistant/Technician

We are a full service, busy single doctor practice located in Taunton, MA. Required hours will include mornings, evenings, and Saturdays. Shift times are typically 10 hours long aside from Saturday shifts which are generally 4 hours. Experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate!

Responsibilities:

-Assist veterinarian and colleagues in appointments
- Assist veterinarian in procedures and dentals
- Perform routine procedures, blood draws and catheter placements
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Provide compassionate care and handle animals with patience and respect

Experience:
- Previous experience working as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of animal behavior, handling, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with common veterinary medications and their administration routes
- Proficiency in performing laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis
- Ability to operate veterinary equipment and machinery effectively
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members

-Positive attitude and strong work ethic is a MUST

We will also need this candidate to be reliable, hardworking, able to take and follow instructions, able and willing to learn, and are able to work well with the whole team. Due to us being a small practice, the ability to learn and advance rapidly is available!
