Job Summary:
The Veterinary Assistant supports the doctors and veterinary technicians (VT) in providing high quality patient care and excellent client service. The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for aiding in safe animal handling, cleaning treatment areas, stocking a variety of medical supplies, maintaining safe and clean equipment, and providing general support to both doctors and veterinary technicians.
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour*

Job Summary:
The Veterinary Assistant supports the doctors and veterinary technicians (VT) in providing high quality patient care and excellent client service. The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for aiding in safe animal handling, cleaning treatment areas, stocking a variety of medical supplies, maintaining safe and clean equipment, and providing general support to both doctors and veterinary technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a professional and calm demeanor with all clients and patients
- Demonstrates and utilizes proper animal handling and restraint techniques
- Assists in basic patient care, including providing food and water, and maintaining clean, comfortable kennels for hospitalized patients
- Cleans vacated kennels in treatment area, radiology, ISO, and dog runs
- Restocks various supplies in treatment area, exam rooms, and surgery room
- Ensures treatment area and exam rooms are kept clean and sanitized
- Aides in collecting patient samples, including blood, fecal, urine, and cytology samples using appropriate techniques, in partnership with a VT
- Assists in the maintenance of surgical packs and equipment, including the cleaning of instruments and equipment after surgical procedures
- Unpacks and checks in various shipments to the clinic, in partnership with a VT

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year prior animal handling experience highly preferred
