Veterinarian

Job Summary:
Georgetown Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team supporting the medical needs of dogs and cats in the amazing town of Charlottesville, Va. For more information please visit our website: gvhvets.com

About our facility: 7000 square foot building, large parking lot on 2 acres of beautifully maintained grounds, big inviting reception area, 5 large exam rooms, wide hallways and doors. In house lab, ultra sound, digital x-ray, isolation with separate ventilation, crematorium, dog boarding, separate boarding for cats etc...

Duties:
- Perform comprehensive medical examinations on animals, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as necessary
- Conduct surgeries, including spaying/neutering, dental procedures, and other surgical interventions
- Provide emergency medical care to injured or critically ill animals
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to ensure the highest standard of care is provided
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities

Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid Virginia veterinary license
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
