Responsibilities:
- Examine animals and diagnose their health issues
- Provide medical treatment to animals, including prescribing medications and performing surgeries
- Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results for diagnosis
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary terminology
- Experience in dog handling, animal catheterization, and veterinary critical care
- Ability to perform surgical procedures with precision and care
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members
- Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple cases simultaneously
Note: Experience in dog training, pet grooming, pet care, kennel management, or any other specialized area within veterinary medicine is a plus.
