Verification Specialist

Job Description

GVC Mortgage, Inc. is seeking a Verification Specialist to perform verbal verifications of employment, rent, and alternate trade accounts in addition to contacting borrowers to ensure familiarity with their loan details. The ideal candidate for this position must exhibit exceptional communication skills, work well under deadlines, and maintain a strong focus on customer service. The Verification Specialist works with the Quality Control team and reports to the Chief Quality Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Making and receiving phone calls to borrower’s employers, landlords, and additional debt holders
• Recording phone calls using industry standards and applicable regulations
• Accurate data entry
• Maintaining notes in files and monitoring progress
• Reverifying information pertaining to a borrower’s payment worthiness
• Identifying potential areas of concern and reporting deficiencies
• Providing exceptional communication and customer service; verbal and written

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn new systems and keep current on technology
• Fast learner with good time management skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to produce accurate and detailed work in required time-frame
• Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Customer Service experience
