Overview: A Car Salesperson is responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their automotive needs, and guiding them through the process of purchasing a vehicle. This role involves effective communication, product knowledge, and customer service skills to ensure a positive buying experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
- Greet and assist customers entering the dealership.
- Identify customers' preferences and provide information on available vehicles.
- Conduct test drives to showcase vehicle features.
Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about the latest models, features, and specifications.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the vehicles' benefits and advantages.
Sales Process:
- Guide customers through the sales process, addressing questions and concerns.
- Present financing and leasing options, explaining terms and conditions.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
Documentation and Paperwork:
- Complete necessary paperwork for Vehicle Sales, including contracts and finance agreements.
- Ensure accuracy in all documentation and compliance with legal requirements.
Follow-Up:
- Maintain communication with customers post-sale to address any concerns.
- Seek opportunities for additional sales, such as accessories or service packages.
Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service to build long-term relationships.
- Resolve customer issues or complaints professionally and promptly.
Sales Targets:
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets set by the dealership.
- Participate in sales training and professional development programs. (Some overnight travel for training will be required).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales is a plus.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and explain technical details about vehicles.
- Customer-focused with a positive and professional attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Must meet weekly requirements of sending customers emails, texts, phone calls, and videos. Job performance will be evaluated based on meeting these metrics.
Application and Interview Process:
- A 30-second video is required as part of the application and interview process. The video will be a short clip roleplaying as if you were a salesperson convincing a customer to come in and take a look at the vehicle you're showing. Cover the features of the vehicle. More information about the video needs will be provided during the first interview.
- All applicants will receive a questionnaire after their application is submitted. The questionnaire must completed before applicants will be considered.
