Job Overview

 

The Vehicle Masterdata Specialist, residing within Product Management, is responsible for the maintenance of Master Data, ensuring it is correct and up to date, and that any errors are resolved in a timely manner.  This position is also charged with the creation of monroney labels, ordering of pre-series vehicles, and the management of Order banks.

 

Responsibilities

 

       Creation and maintenance of Master Data for Model Portfolio, including daily monitoring of POs/Orders to identify and correct errors

       Maintain Master data for our model portfolio thereby defining Standard Equipment, Optional Equipment, Packages, VPC Accessories and Plausibility using Model Equipment List.

       Maintain Master data as Boolean logic rules, encode these rules into the system and design them so dealers and customers can easily understand.

       Initiate the testing of these complex Boolean logic rules using Test System and Test Configurator and resolve errors with Product Management and HQ.

       Monitor Advantages Online & Presales news emails to receive information on all Master Data topics and adjust maintenance accordingly per Product Management's guidance.

       Take corrective action on all vehicle errors in a timely manner to ensure they are specified correctly including the creation of credit codes or rebuild packages when necessary.

       Monitor iteration emails daily for discrepancies between PPM Rules and existing order configurations. Monitor PBK future iterations weekly for discrepancies between current PPM rules and supplier forecasts.

       Overall support and execution of activities related to Vehicle Ordering and Wholesale Launches

       Order PT, Advance, Market Introduction, Demo and Special Edition Cars per HQ & Product Management's request to meet ordering deadlines.

       Open and Close dealer Order Banks per defined deadlines. Monitor Order Bank request errors and clear them in preparation for the Order Cycle.

       Track all Pre-Series vehicles to ensure they ship here in a timely manner and check configurations before dealer assignment. 

       Work with Product Managers, Controlling and ASBD to obtain sign-offs in preparation for annual vehicle wholesale launch.

       Coordinate reprinting of Monroney labels due to content description and/or pricing errors to ensure proper wholesale/retail of vehicles to dealers.

       Send out dealer communication about Order Bank opening & closing, specification deadline changes in GO and Order Cycle summary.

       Clearing of errors as plausi rules change

       Shortages / PreSales News: After a new version of PreSales for shortages/constraints is received we will need to work in tandem. Masterdata will review the document, decide on and perform masterdata and rule changes (if any). Afterwards, Order Management will update the affected orders.

Experience & Qualifications

 

       Must have at least 5-7 years of experience in Automotive or Supply Chain Management or related field.

       Proven experience handling complex processes and systems.

       Strong planning and organizational skills.

       Advanced analytical skills.

       Ability to act independently and decisively based on analysis and objective data and time constraints.

       Good communication skills. Personal network within MBUSA and Daimler is a plus.

       Team player, with the ability to manage complex relationships and a diverse group of stakeholders.

       Experience in Product Management or Supply Chain Management is beneficial.

       This position resides within Product Management.
