DO & CO is looking for Vegetable Prep Helper to support our culinary team in Chicago - ORD.
What you’ll do:
Perform cleaning, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, measuring and mixing ingredients. Assist in other related tasks as assigned.

A day a Vegetable Prep Helper:
  • Perform washing, chopping, and dicing vegetables using knife or peeling machine. Guarantee accuracy and consistency of the cuts.
  • Always keep the immediate work area and equipment and tools clean and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
  • Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
  • Smell, pierce, and taste food to check its doneness and quality.
  • Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation.
  • Assist in inventory and in keeping the kitchen well stocked and all necessary items are on hand by making notes when stock is low and informing the supervisor accordingly.
  • Reduce food wastage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
  • Proactive and self-organized
  • Ability to manage through a substantial workload.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility (different shifts –days, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of six months of logistics/warehousing experience in a similar work environment preferred.
