Form of workVCU Athletics is seeking a Graduate Assistant to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Compliance Office during the 2023-24 academic year.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Reviewing countable athletically related activities records and analyzing data using ARMS and NCAA Compliance Assistant software;
Monitoring countable athletically related activities and voluntary activities;
Maintaining student-athlete files and insuring that all required NCAA and A-10 documentation are up to date;
Researching NCAA rules and regulations;
Assisting with interpretive issues of NCAA rules and regulations;
Assisting with auditing of various compliance areas as assigned;
Assisting in researching and compiling materials for Coaches' rules education sessions;
Utilizing Compliance Assistant software (CAi) to input student-athlete and team data; and
Other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Admittance into a VCU graduate program; and
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a Graduate Assistant at VCU.
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience with NCAA Division I rules and regulations;
Highly organized, and detail oriented;
Professional writing skills; and
Exceptional verbal communication and people skills.
