JOB TITLE: Registered Vascular Technologist
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures utilizing ultrasound imaging, pulsed wave, continuous wave and color flow Doppler interrogation, and physiologic measurements such as segmental blood pressures and pulse volume recordings. Present study findings and preliminary interpretations for physician review and final interpretation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform high quality non-invasive diagnostic vascular studies (ultrasound and physiologic). Specific types of studies include extracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, renal, venous, visceral, and ABI/PVR evaluation.
- Compile and distribute reports, files and maintains equipment
- Schedule and cancel appointments for lab as necessary
- Confirm patients, check insurance eligibility, and referrals
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited vascular technology training program. Registered vascular technician (RVT) or registered vascular specialist (RVS) required.
REQUIREMENTS: Human heart and vascular structures, carotid, aorta, renals and peripherals. Recording vascular studies according to IAC standards. Minimum two years experience in the non-invasive vascular technology field required. CPR certified or ACLS certified. Must maintain the guidelines of IAC standards. Strong mathematical skills. Strong medical terminology. Adherence to all policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safety, performance, attendance, punctuality, and personal grooming and appearance. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to speak and write in a professional, courteous, and concise manner. Accept and utilize feedback and constructive criticism.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
