PLACE OF WORK: Hotel lobby and entrance areas under all weather conditions and with high pedestrian traffic; Hotel Parking lots and surrounding streets, guest rooms and access routes to guest rooms, outside locations.

JOB OVERVIEW: Ensure the smooth parking of vehicles, consistently exceed guest expectations, and execute brand service standards to the highest standards while maintaining excellent communication with guests, peers, and supervisors. In situations where challenges arise, they will be resolved in a professional and courteous manner, always prioritizing guest satisfaction.

Perform the daily responsibilities of these positions and assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests and visitors.

REPORTS TO:Director of Rooms- Bell Capitan

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Bell Staff, Valet Staff, Front Desk, Concierge, PBX/Reservations, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Catering and Banquets, Sales

External: Guests and Visitors, Taxi/Limousine Drivers, Traffic Controllers, Vendors

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Qualifications:

Essential:

1. Valid driver's license.

2. Good driving record.

3. Ability to drive standard and manual transmission.

4. High school or equivalent.

5. Previous 1 year of experience as a Bell/Valet Attendant in a luxury hotel/resort.

6. Thorough knowledge of hotel services and amenities.

7. Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests and visitors, management and co-workers to their understanding.

8. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

9. Ability to provide legible communication and directions.

10. Previous guest relations training.


Skills:

Essential:

1. Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with Bell/Valet staff.

2. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments; delegate work to staff.

3. Outstanding supervisory and organization skills.

4. Ability to direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections where needed.

5. Ability to be a clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments.

6. Ability to work well under pressure of check-in/check-out of hotel guest/visitors and in coordinating all departmental functions.

7. Ability to understand guest inquiries and provide responses.

8. Ability to focus attention on guests' needs.

9. Ability to exert physical effort in placing, removing and transporting guest luggage, up to 50 lbs.

10. Ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time.

11. Ability to maintain confidentiality of guests and pertinent hotel information.

12. Ability to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.

13. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged periods of standing and walking and frequent pulling, pushing, and bending.

1. Exposure to indoor and outdoor environment factors (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).

2. Continuous movement throughout hotel.

3. Able to grasp, lift and/or carry, push, pull, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. on a continuous schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Open doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving the property.

2. Welcome and greet guests and visitors.

3. Assist guests with opening/closing vehicle doors and with luggage.

4. When bellman is occupied, Greet and open the door for arriving guests.

5. Ensure that guests feel welcome and attended to at all times.

6. Give fond farewell to all guests who are departing as per hotel standard.

7. Effectively tag vehicle keys, park and retrieve guests cars without causing damage to the vehicle.

8. Supply guests with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.

9. Identify and explain room features to guests (e.g., use of room key, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, valet laundry services).

10. Provide guests with information regarding property facilities, amenities, services, hours of operation.

11. Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell area.

12. Assist with luggage storage and retrieval.

13. Luggage delivery and retrieval tracker (help to direct bellman on check in and check outs as requested by guests, ensure bellman knows guest name, anticipates transportation needs, etc.)

14. Ensure jogging station is set up with beach menus, maps, water, towels, etc.

15. Aids in vehicle ticketing and flow of valet

16. Act as Point of contact for radio requests and updates list as completed.

17. Assists in event parking organization (key board layout, traffic control, directing guests, etc.)

18. Retrieving in-house guest keys as directed

19. Create a daily to-do list when requested.

20. Ensure that the Bell/Valet Desk is attended at all times; that all posting positions are maintained.

21. Ensure that all guest's valet experiences are memorable, unique and as per the hotel's standards

22. Ensure that company vehicles are in a clean and good condition.

23. Escort guests to assigned rooms/villas.

24. Assist with luggage storage and retrieval.

25. Deliver amenities, mail, gift bags, ice or special request items to guest rooms in a timely manner.

26. Assist guests/visitors in and out of vehicles, including assisting guests with loading/unloading luggage.

27. Answer Bell Stand telephone within 3 minutes, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.

28. Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.

29. Responsible for opening and closing parking area or facility.

30. Document and report all vehicle incidents like damages, accidents, theft, missing articles etc..

31. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager.

32. Maintain a clean and professional appearance.

33. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

34. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist Front Desk staff with guest room tours.

2. Retrieve tickets other items as requested.
