Position Overview
We are a multidisciplinary team bringing together UX design, visual design, content strategy, and user research to deliver excellent user experiences for our customers. The User Researcher will directly assist the team with a wide range of projects regarding understanding user behaviors, attitudes, needs and pain points in the eCommerce space.
In this position, the Researcher will demonstrate skills in:
- An understanding of the eCommerce landscape and best practices
- Proactivity, self-sufficiency, and a strong drive for collaboration
- Managing multiple research projects at once for Tuft & Needle, Serta and Beautyrest while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ensuring a bias for solution-based thinking and actively applying this to your projects
- Interpersonal skills working with users, UX designers and cross-functional partners
- Conducting moderated and unmoderated qualitative research studies
- Leveraging research tools for A/B testing, on site surveys and metrics
- Creating digestible, easy to understand research finding presentations for stakeholders via data visualization and presentation design
What You'll Do:
UX Design Team Collaboration
- Translate Figma prototypes and design concepts into user research studies to inform final page / feature designs and validate hypothesis
- Recommend research methodologies based on project goals
- Assist in marketplace competitive analysis
- Develop quarterly and long-term roadmapping
- Use qualitative research data (from yourself and other team members) to inform your projects and make decisions
- Propose methodologies and write a user research script
- Lead recruiting and compensation for research with minimal input from a senior member
- Comfortably switch between facilitating and note taking in execution of research
- Run small to medium usability/research studies and analyze the data
- Double check your studies after launch to make sure they are functioning properly for both desktop and mobile users
- Actively promote the value of design and design thinking through your interactions with others
- Via ContentSquare, analyze our brands’ live websites and provide actionable recommendations from findings as it relates to customer behaviors, needs and pain points while shopping
- Use qualitative data from Google Analytics, ContentSquare, and market research to help inform your design recommendations.
- Leverage ContentSquare to come up with hypotheses and compare user interaction as we release different version of a design
- Create qualitative and usability insights reporting
- Present recommendations for what is working, what isn’t working, and what to change.

- Adhere to project timelines and communicate any possible delays to the project team ASAP
- Consistently use our project management software to stay organized (Jira and Notion) to document, and communicate project updates and statuses
- Propose your own process and timeline for projects

What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Undergraduate Academic degree(s) closely related to the following: Marketing, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Fine Arts
- Minimum 3 years experience in User Research or related field

The hiring salary range for this position applies to where legally required, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
