We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior UX Designer to lead our full-scale UX design efforts. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of combined professional design experience, with a focus on user-centered design (UCD) principles and methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead full-scale UX design efforts, including research, blueprinting, and evaluation of existing systems.
- Develop research-driven design solutions for responsive web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize features based on user goals and business requirements.
- Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Mentor and lead junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Establish and maintain rapid customer feedback loops to inform design decisions at critical stages.
- Create and modify data visualizations to enhance user understanding and engagement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.
- 10 years of combined professional design experience, with a focus on UX/UI design.
- Strong online portfolio showcasing research-driven design decisions for web and mobile applications.
- Expertise in user research methodologies, user-centered design principles, and UI design standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with Figma is a must.
- Experience designing applications compliant with 508 and US Web Design System (USWDS) standards.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and experience managing projects in an Agile environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and client-focused skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Success in designing projects from scratch and redesigning established platforms or products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
- Experience leading UX design efforts for large-scale projects or organizations.
- Certification in UX design or related field (e.g., Certified Usability Analyst, Certified User Experience Professional).
