Job Description
World Services, LLC is in search of a CX/UX Design Lead tasked with implementing CX/UX strategies and crafting user-engaging products. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in human-centered design, change management, effective user interactions with websites and digital tools, and stay updated with the latest CX/UX methodologies and technological advancements.
NOTE: MUST be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Location: REMOTE; with occasional onsite meetings
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage the CX/UX related planning, prioritization and decision making. Advocate for broader CX/UX activities in support of HSIN as needed.
- Lead and participate in sessions that leverage CX/UX design methods and strategies.
- Translate user needs into concepts, personas, user journeys, information architecture, user flows, wireframes and visual design prototypes using tools such as Figma, Mural, and Optimal Workshop.
- Conduct and synthesize user research and usability testing and translate those results into designs that will improve products in an iterative fashion.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, software developers, and SDD leadership to articulate the CX vision, tradeoffs, and decisions.
- Lead efforts to develop and implement HSIN-specific design patterns and information architecture that adhere to DHS brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with DHS trusted testers and OAST to ensure that all front-end design and development work is Section 508 compliant for accessibility.
- Balance user needs with product owner priorities and technical feasibility.
- Ensure use of U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) are implemented in all products.
- Drive a plain language content strategy to facilitate an easy-to-understand user experience for all users.
Minimum Required Skillset and Professional Experience:
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 10+ years of equivalent experience
Demonstrated proficiency with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies.
Hands-on experience in implementing User Experience Methodology to streamline process and software design, minimizing friction.
Proven track record in leading plain language content strategies to enhance user comprehension and accessibility.
- Familiarity with prevalent software development practices and agile methodologies.
Desired qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-10 years experience in web design and development, utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a specialization in responsive design and adherence to web standards, including compatibility with older browser versions.
- A minimum of 5-10 years experience with various browsers, WYSIWYG editors, graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator), animation software, and techniques for optimizing images.
- A minimum, of 5 years of experience leading design initiatives similar in scope and size
