Job Description
GovOS is seeking to hire a user experience design team leader who is innovative, ambitious, and passionate about designing digital solutions and delightful user experiences. This position will lead the design-led product development initiative that the organization is taking on to improve the user experience of all the user personas of the products. The goal of the initiative is to reimagine the overall user experience of using GovOS products by our customers and the businesses and citizens who interact with the systems daily to engage with state and local government agencies. The job would require ownership of the end-to-end process of designing a differentiated user experience in the market. The position will lead both design system developers and interaction designers.
Responsibilities
- This role will lead and support the ongoing design of our industry-leading platforms and digital experience. This role will have an opportunity and practical experience collaborating with an agile team from discovery to delivery across various products– from greenfield to optimization of existing projects. This role brings a high-energy, empathetic UX design approach to our growing product development team and to the entire organization. Reporting to the CPO, who oversees both product and engineering, you will work closely with product management, development, and customer-facing teams to help GovOS release products and features that customers and prospects would love
- This role is responsible for establishing best practices and influencing the working methods of the entire team. You are experienced and confident in providing context and coaching team members in processes and design practices. This role can grasp user needs through observing the use of the product and user discovery interviews
- Ultimately, this role is responsible for making our products more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers
Qualifications
- Solid UX/UI design portfolio with 8+ years of experience in a B2B enterprise SaaS environment. A portfolio demonstrating systematic product thinking and superior craft, including user flows, design components, User Experience (UX), and User Interface Design (UI)
- Experience interacting with end users & peer organizations for discovery and to uncover what problems we should solve for our users and how best to transition from existing experience to new experience
- Experience leading the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-resolution artifacts using user-focused designs, experience, and knowledge of user journey mapping techniques. Ability to collect feedback from actual users, product managers, and other stakeholders to fine-tune
- Ability to create collaboration between design system and other interaction designers in your team to create aligned experiences across the product portfolio
- Demonstrated capability of strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate and advocate design decisions, and rationale among the other possible approaches considered
- Ability to conduct and interpret user analytics reports and user research to adopt a data-driven approach to creative problem-solving
- Experience applying an incremental product design process in an agile environment
- Desire to be part of a collaborative UX team with an enthusiastic, creative, and positive human-centered approach
