JOB SUMMARY
We're looking for an experienced Utilization Review (UR) Specialist to join our team! The Utilization Review Specialist acts as a liaison with a patient’s insurance company; coordinates billing, payments, and authorizations with insurance companies; and monitors authorizations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as an advocate and liaison with client’s insurance to coordinate authorization for treatment.
- Manage patient authorizations for treatment.
- Coordinate regularly with clients, treatment team members, and the billing department to ensure timely and necessary communications to obtain authorizations and claims payment from payers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Three years’ working experience or a minimum bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or another related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, especially spreadsheets
- Current CPR certification (can be obtained upon hire)
Preferred:
- At least one year of experience working in a residential/behavioral healthcare setting
- Experience working with insurance companies
- Master’s degree and/or licensure in social work or substance use disorder counseling (ASUDC, SUDC, CSW, LCSW)
