Title: Customer Service Representative - Water & Plumbing Group, Special Projects, and Gas Utilities Group
Department: Customer Service Department
Supervisor: Customer Service Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
The Customer Service Representative is expected to fulfill order entry, quote and lead time requests with customers and sales personnel in a professional and timely manner.
The Customer Service Representative builds and maintains strong working relationships with other Customer Service Representatives, outside sales representatives, purchasing personnel, members of management, and purchasing personnel. The positions assists co-workers and the Customer Service Manager to improve and/or maintain “superior Customer Service.”
Essential Functions:
1. Enter customer quotes
2. Enter customer Sales Orders
3. Answer phone calls directed to Customer Service
4. Enter Direct Shipment Purchase Orders
5. Follow-up on entered Customer Quotes
6. Send prices for Annual Bids
7. Follow-up on all entered Purchase Orders.
8. Up-date P21 errors found as far as (List Cost, Net Cost, Customer Addresses, Phone Numbers, Email Addresses, Billing Addresses, and Item Descriptions)
9. Enter new part numbers with EGW’s 5 digit code with the correct item description and cost
10. Follow-up on the Backorder Report, Promise Date Report, and Open Purchase Order Report and Purchase Order Confirmation Report
11. Up-date Landing Cost on all Purchase Orders

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and Internet Searching
  • Typing skills of 50 words per minutes
Travel:
Nominal travel expected.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Customer Service experience required (minimum 2 years)
• Experience use of ERP (SAP, Oracle, Epicor P21, or Epicor Eclipse) preferred.
• Working knowledge of Water and Plumbing Utility Markets & Products
• Experience working for a distributor or wholesale business, desirable
• High School degree required
• College Degree or Two year Associate’s degree in related field preferable but not required
• High School degree required
• College Degree or Two year Associate’s degree in related field preferable but not required
