This is a union position starting at $35.06 per hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Utility Helper performs a variety of custodial, maintenance, general labor functions and other related functions as assigned. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager and may occasionally report to other District personnel for additional duties. Experience in operating a variety of equipment that involves plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, snow removal, appliance repairs, painting, drywall, and other miscellaneous repairs is needed to be successful in this position.
Experience, Working Conditions and Other Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must adhere to the District’s residency requirements for response workers.
- A broad knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures including but not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, the ability to operate power and hand tools.
Desirable Qualifications:
- 2-year Associates Degree in facilities maintenance.
Work Environment:
The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Work is performed in the office or in the field Monday through Thursday 6:00AM to 4:30PM. Remote work is not available for this position.
- Performs work in compliance with the District Union Contract Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Work may be performed in the field with need to wear proper personal protection equipment (PPE) and perform work in all weather conditions.
- Works with and safely uses tools and equipment to repair District facilities.
