Wednesday to Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Position may be subject to mandatory off hours call-out and overtime.
Operates assigned Dump Truck which may require a valid CDL license and performs Utility Person work as directed.
- Drives and operates truck equipped with dump body to load, unload, and transport materials to and from job sites.
- May load or unload truck by hand or by operating mechanical loader.
- Maintains a properly equipped vehicle which may include DOT DVIR inspections.
- Performs work as a Utility Person and as described in the Utility Person job description. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Must have basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and working knowledge of company policies, procedures and safety practices as well as regulations regarding confined spaces.
- Ability to operate company equipment and vehicles necessary for completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Attainment of specialized knowledge and skillsets will be required for certain specialized Utility work.
- Prior utility experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have a Class B or Class A CDL (with air brakes).
- Individuals hired into or awarded a Utility Dump Truck Driver position, must take and pass the appropriate state certification examination for Class E Water Distribution License within 24 months, and apply for certification within 6 months of achieving the minimum experience requirement for certification, if he or she had not already met the minimum experience requirement upon passing the certification test.
- Must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment and materials of varying weights up to 100 lbs.
- Required to possess and maintain a drivers license valid in the state of their residence.
- Will be required to complete and maintain forms needed for a driver qualification file.
- Will be required to obtain a DOT medical card.
