Used Car Mechanic/ Tech

Job Summary:
Suburban Subaru is seeking an experienced and skilled Used Car Mechanic/ Tech to join our dynamic team in Vernon, Connecticut. This position is a full-time, individual contributor role in the automotive industry, specifically focused on Used Cars. As a Used Car Mechanic/ Tech, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing used vehicles to ensure they meet our dealership's high standards of quality and safety. This role offers a competitive base pay plus commission based on performance, as well as opportunities for advancement within the dealership.

Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test drive used vehicles to identify any existing or potential issues
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain used vehicles according to dealership standards and manufacturer specifications
- Record and report all necessary information and suggestions for repairs to management
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology and techniques through regular training and education
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any customer concerns or questions regarding vehicle repairs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Used Car Mechanic/ Tech in a dealership or automotive repair shop setting
- ASE certification preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostic equipment and tools
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols
- Must have own set of tools
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
