As a USCG 6 Pack Captain at Treasure Seekers Shell Tours, you'll play a crucial role in providing an unforgettable shelling experience to our guests. We're not just looking for a captain; we're seeking a steward of the sea, someone committed to the responsible enjoyment and conservation of our pristine surroundings.
Key Responsibilities:
Expert Navigation: Navigate our new fleet of Sea Pro 248 Bay Boats with precision, ensuring our guests enjoy a smooth and safe journey through the waters of Marco Island and the Ten Thousand Islands.
Local Knowledge: Showcase your expertise as a Local Shell Expert, sharing insights on the best shelling spots, eco-friendly practices, and the diverse marine life that calls this region home.
Concierge Guidance: Provide exceptional concierge guidance to guests, offering a personalized experience that goes beyond a typical shelling tour.
Educational Narratives: We believe in educating our guests about the unique ecosystem we operate in. Craft engaging narratives about the local wildlife, seashells, and the importance of responsible shelling practices.
Stewardship Advocacy: Express a clear opinion on the significance of protecting the Ten Thousand Islands and its delicate ecosystem. Encourage guests to appreciate and participate in the conservation efforts.
Requirements:
- USCG 6 Pack Captain License
- Enrollment and successful completion of drug tests through drug consortium
- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience
- Clear Marine Insurance Loss History (5 years)
- Local knowledge of the Ten Thousand Islands & surrounding waters
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Clean and perform minor maintenance on boats
- Florida Master Naturalist status is a plus
- Passion for ecological conservation and responsible tourism
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
