About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to join our dynamic organization as the Director of Software Procurement. As a key member of our executive team, you will lead a team of software category managers, play a pivotal role in shaping our software procurement strategy, fostering strong stakeholder alignment, optimizing costs, and ensuring that our technology investments align with our business objectives. The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

1. Strategic Vision & Alignment:
- Align software procurement strategies with overall business objectives, ensuring that technology investments directly support our long-term goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive software procurement strategy aligned with the organization's business goals.
- Identify and evaluate emerging software technologies to enhance organizational capabilities and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand software requirements and forecast future needs.
2. Enhanced Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
- Improve cross-functional collaboration by facilitating communication between IT, legal, finance, and business units.
- Implement transparent processes that enhance visibility into software procurement decisions and their impact on various departments.
- Continuously evaluate and improve software procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
- Implement best practices in procurement, incorporating automation and innovation where applicable.
3. Cost Optimization:
- Spearhead initiatives to optimize software-related expenses, redirecting resources towards high-impact projects and strategic initiatives.
- Implement cost-effective procurement practices that contribute to bottom-line savings while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Analyze and optimize software license agreements to reduce overall costs and maximize value.
- Lead negotiations to secure the most favorable pricing, terms, and conditions for software contracts.
4. Vendor AND Risk Management:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with software vendors, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with software procurement, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain a robust risk management framework for software contracts.
5. Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing software procurement team.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Empower team members to think strategically, negotiate effectively, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, IT, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a senior software procurement role, demonstrating a successful track record in strategic planning and execution.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex software contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of the software industry, licensing models, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
