Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

In support of the Physician Services Urgent Care Service Line, the Vice President of Strategic Business Growthreports directly to the President of Urgent Care service line and is responsible for growth and expansion of UC markets and UC centers within the Service Line. Under a combination of administrative and executive direction, provides leadership and directs Business Growth consistent with strategic plans and objectives established by the Service Line, Physician Service Group and HCA leadership. The VP of Strategic Business Growth, organizes, applies, directs, controls and evaluates the resources needed to achieve the Business Growth expected. The position uses all resources to generate measurable returns to benefit the company, the community, the physician and most of all, the patient.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the Business Growth of existing and developing markets of the Urgent Care Service line in support of achieving the strategic and operational goals of the company.
  • Direct reports include AVP Denovo, AVP Real Estate and Facilities, Manager of Contracts, Director of Strategic Business Growth.
  • Researches, evaluates and collaborates regarding potential markets and locations for Business Growth opportunities
  • Initiates, leads and manages Business Growth through De Novo, acquired and joint venture business opportunities.
  • Leads and actively participants in the due diligence of acquisitions
  • Responsible for the successful initialization and timely opening of new UC Markets and clinic locations.
  • Builds and drives sustained revenue growth.
  • Builds strategic alliances outside the organization to create business opportunities and execute business strategies.
  • Initiates and establishes a long-range course of action and set of goals within the Business Growth area to ensure successful realization of the Service Line’s vision and goals that align with HCA and PSG.
  • Ensures synergies among people, process, and strategies to drive execution of business objectives.
  • Builds a competitively superior organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent to ensure that people with the right skills and motivations are in the right places at the right time to meet business needs
  • Develops an organization culture that leads to ongoing excellence and effective growth of the business while maintaining the highest integrity
    • Collaborates with the HCA Hospitals, Divisions and other Lines of Business to ensure good communication and proper execution of all initiatives.

    • Ensures proper alignment with our physician and provider partners.

    • Ensures Business Continuity.

    • Clearly communicates HCA, PSG and UC Service Line Mission and Values.

    • Participates in the building and execution of the Service Line business plan.

    • Aids in the recruitment, negotiation and execution of physician agreements.

    • Manages and supports real estate lease or purchase negotiation and execution.
    •  Supports UC Service Line President in management operating reviews, budget development and the reporting and communication of service line operations within the organization.
    • Supports payor and network strategies and opportunities.
    • Supports information technology and marketing strategies that drive volume growth.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


    • In depth and up to date knowledge of healthcare administration typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in a business or healthcare related discipline. In addition, candidate must possess at least five years practice/healthcare senior management experience. Experience in Urgent Care or in Ambulatory Care setting is required.


    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS


    • The Vice President of Strategic Business Growth must possess a current working knowledge of accrediting organizations, state and federal guidelines, regulations and standards. The VP of Strategic Business Growth must demonstrate expertise in negotiation, strategic planning, leading change and possess strong communication skills, business and financial acumen, negotiation skills and exhibit a focus on the patient experience.

    • The VP of Strategic Business Growth must be highly skilled in building relationships with providers, business partners and employees.

    • The highest degree of integrity, trust and commitment to the Mission & Values of HCA, PSG and the Urgent Care Service Line are required.
