Urbn Yard Jockey Day Shift

Candidate should be a motivated team player with a positive attitude and possess good organizational and communication skills. Individual should be able to function well in a multi-task environment with attention to detail, and willing to accept new and diverse assignments. Candidate must be able to work with all organizational levels including fellow-employees, customers and management.

Shift: Monday - Friday; 6am - 2:30pm

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Compliance with all safety and quality guidelines and regulations
• At direction of Management and/or Yard management system, move empty trailers to shipping doors, set loaded trailers to the doors and remove loaded/empty trailers from dock doors
• Safely maneuver a tractor and trailer combination vehicle in a compact yard area
• Safely enter and exit yard tractor numerous times per shift
• Safely maneuver equipment with good backing skills
• Transport trailers between two facilities located across the street from one another
• Lift and open trailer doors
• Maintain tractor in a clean, sanitary condition.
• Keep yard in order during shift
• Daily inspection of trailers
• Maintain trailer inventory
• Responsible for proper trailer seals
• May also assist in warehouse responsibilities as needed including forklift operation
• Responsible for other task within the employees training and skills as directed by the supervisor and/or department manager
• Ability to effectively communicate with all team members as well as with leads and supervisors of other departments
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
• Ability to complete assignments in the time allotted
• Ability to work independently
• Ability and willingness to cross train when opportunity arises
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
• All other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

• High school degree or GED required
• Must have a valid Class A, CDL
• Must have a current DOT physical
• Must have an acceptable driving record
• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the operation of a tractor trailer unit in a yard driver setting

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to manipulate a keyboard for extended periods of time
• Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 55 pounds
• Operate warehouse equipment as required for position (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires coordinated movements

Works in a warehouse environment in all types of weather. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
