The Opportunity
  • Assisting senior staff and gaining exposure on a variety of projects such as urban design and planning, transportation infrastructure,, bicycle and pedestrian planning
  • Conducting research and analysis both for project formulation and development as well as writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
  • Supporting preparation of project presentations, workshops, graphic materials and coordination and project management activities both within the team and other disciplines
  • Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and working in conjunction with deputy project managers, project managers and both planners and engineers to help complete assigned tasks
  • Understanding trends, data and best practices in the urban design, planning and transport planning industry
  • Participating in internal knowledge dissemination activities as well as in local Professional Associations or industry events

Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, land development, urban or landscape design, transportation planning, architecture and/or civil engineering or a related field
  • 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Proven interest in the built environment, city development, transportation and community development and/or urban data analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working and clients of all levels
  • Strong teamwork capabilities, and an outstanding sense of responsibility, contribution and achievement
  • Self-starter and ability to contribute to different teams and disciplines and a diverse range of activities, including administrative
  • Excellent level of written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, as well as good skills in Geographical Information Systems
  • Quality design orientation
  • Good command of digital tools including AutoCAD, Rhino, ArcGIS, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience/knowledge of BIM will be a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this role

Los Angeles Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles, CA is $23.50 to $35.00 per hour. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles, CA will differ.
San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco, CA is $26.00 to $37.00 per hour. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco, CA will differ.
Oakland Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Oakland, CA is $26.00 to $37.00 per hour. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Oakland, CA will differ.
