UPS Technician I

POSITION SUMMARY:
A UPS Technician 1 is responsible for assisting a lead technician on startups, preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot, and repairs of Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, and DC Power systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with UPS/Battery replacements and new installations.
• Assist, as necessary, with preventative maintenance of batteries with minimal disruption to customer.
• Ability to travel for work and training.
• Continuous learning and training on various products both field and classroom.
• Interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Follow operational, maintenance and emergency methods of procedure (MOPs)
• Ensure strict adherence to critical facility work rules and safety procedures.
• Ability to use hand and general maintenance tools and equipment.
• Keep the job site clean during replacement, installation, and maintenance.
• Assist with work in other service divisions as needed.
• Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Learn to safely operate equipment including but not limited to: 
o Company vans, trucks, stake body truck, and box truck.                
o Manual pallet jacks. 
o Electric pallet jacks. 
o Forklift. 
o Electric drills/drivers. 
o Torque wrench. 
o Hand tools. 
o Testing Equipment
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
• Other duties as assigned by Services Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma
• Clean driving records a must.
• Elementary fix/repair techniques based on directed supervision.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of AC/DC theory, electronic components, and electronic circuitry.
Computer Skills:
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Certificates and Licenses:
• OSHA 10-hour certification
• NFPA 70E, low voltage electrical safety
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• No supervisory responsibilities

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; Standing and walking is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must lift and carry up to 50 – 70 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
