Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging math lessons.
- Design and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons, emphasizing programming languages (Block, Python, C++, Java).
- Create an inclusive learning environment, encouraging student exploration in math and Computer Science.
- Stay current with advancements in mathematics and Computer Science education, as well as emerging technologies and pedagogical approaches.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary concepts and promote cross-curricular connections.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
- Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, competitions, or coaching, with a particular emphasis on robotics, engineering, or Computer Science if applicable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching multiple Upper School math subjects (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalc, Geometry, Calculus).
- Previous experience developing Computer Science curricula.
- A passion for working with students in all levels of learning!
- Proficiency in programming languages and a deep understanding of Computer Science concepts.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to students of varying skill levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools.
- Participation in professional development related to Computer Science and robotics education.
- Experience mentoring students in FIRST robotics competitions (FLL, FTC, and/or FRC).
