In this position, you will play a pivotal role in the aircraft refurbishment process. Your responsibilities will include performing essential stripping operations to prepare aircraft surfaces for remodeling and recovery. You will exhibit your expertise in working with leather and fabrics, ensuring the meticulous refurbishment of aircraft seating to meet high-quality standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for pattern making, cutting, sewing, cementing, and trimming upholstery fabrics for various components such as drapery, divans, chairs, headliners, side panels, containers, and engine and propeller covers. Additionally, you will contribute to covering flight control surfaces and executing routing and complex sewing operations with precision.
Attention to detail is paramount as you document all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner. Your collaborative spirit will shine as you work seamlessly with the team to achieve established goals, contributing to the overall success of our aircraft refurbishment projects.
Requirements
1. Proficient Sewing Skills: Demonstrated experience and expertise in sewing, encompassing a range of materials and techniques. This includes the ability to execute precise and high-quality sewing work in various contexts, such as garment construction or upholstery projects.
2. Pattern Making Proficiency with Upholstery: Proven capability in pattern making specifically related to upholstery projects. This involves the ability to interpret design specifications, create accurate patterns, and successfully execute upholstery projects. Practical experience in designing and crafting upholstery patterns is a key qualification.
3. AOA Clearance or Airport Access Eligibility: Eligibility and willingness to obtain Airport Operations Area (AOA) clearance or access, including successfully passing a comprehensive background check. This is crucial for roles that involve working in secure airport environments, ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations.
4. High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification, demonstrating the foundational knowledge and skills required for the position. This serves as a baseline educational requirement for candidates applying for this role.
