Job Summary:
The University Recruiter for Technology role provides end-to-end support and talent acquisition activities related to early career hiring, including Lowe’s Internship Program and University Relations. The University Recruiter will support the Lowe’s Internship Program with planning, management, and enhancements to deliver an outstanding candidate experience across the complete life cycle of the Lowe’s Internship Program and other development programs at Lowe’s. This role will also support Lowe’s LaunchPad, an entry-level program that shapes our technology department's future by attracting, identifying, and developing early and emerging talent from universities, high schools, and boot camps.
The University Recruiter is part of our University and Military Recruiting team, which works to deliver a best-in-class experience that attracts and connects early and emerging talent to opportunities for career growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute innovative recruiting strategies to attract and hire top technology talent from early career avenues, including, but not limited to, Universities, High Schools, and Boot Camps.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key universities, faculty, career services, student organizations, non-profits, and providers to promote our technology roles and internship opportunities.
- Oversee the end-to-end internship program for the Technology department, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for both the interns and the business.
- Conduct and coordinate recruitment events, career fairs, and presentations, both on-campus and virtually, to increase brand awareness and candidate engagement.
- Collaborate with Technology leaders to understand hiring needs, develop role profiles, and align internship projects with business goals.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to track and analyze recruitment metrics, making informed decisions to improve recruitment strategies and outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to interns, facilitating opportunities for learning, networking, and professional development.
- Provide support and mentorship to associate recruiters on the team, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the recruiting function.
- Manage and provide recommendations for process improvements within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), onboarding processes, and overall recruiting practices to enhance efficiency and candidate experience. This includes assessing current practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic changes in collaboration with HR and recruiting leadership.
- Sources potential talent by meeting with clients across the organization to verify job profiles and specifications.
- Ensures a positive candidate / customer experience with every candidate.
- Seeks out potential candidates using innovative methods and follows recruiting process from start to finish.
- Evaluates candidate profiles and resumes; represents the company (information and marketing) to candidates; completes detailed candidate phone screens, prepares candidate evaluations, and presents candidates to hiring manager.
- Explores new recruitment methods and keeps abreast of industry trends while sharing best practices across the team.
- Builds and maintains a network of potential candidates to generate a high-volume, high-quality pipeline of candidates.
- Helps onboard and train new recruiters to team.
- Consults business partners on candidate assessment and interview processes by collaborating with hiring managers to develop interview tools and guides and conduct interviews in a structured process.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for hiring managers regarding recruiting.
- Educates hiring managers and ensures clarity of and adherence to the recruitment process and hiring policies.
- Requires Travel up to 70% of the time during peak recruiting times of the year.
- This role requires being local to CLT and in the Mooresville office one day a week.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in HR, Business, or other relevant degree OR 4 years experience in lieu of degree
- 5 years recruiting experience
- 5 years experience with behavioral interviewing
- 5 years experience using an applicant tracking system
- Experience proactively searching for and engaging passive candidates
- Experience consulting with and influencing hiring managers
- 3 years experience sourcing through candidate social networking tools and using creative sourcing methodologies (X-ray, FlipSearch, Boolean Search)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years experience recruiting mid- to senior-level roles
