Currently we are hiring a Universal Banker. As a Universal Banker, you will provide new and existing customers with high quality service and specialize in assessing customer needs. You will be conducting teller and cash vault transactions with a high regard to detail, and cross-selling bank products and services. A successful Universal Banker is energetic, is able to multi-task and has excellent customer service, organization and communication skills.

Essential Functions:
- Interviews new account holders and processes necessary paperwork for a customer account to be opened, closed, or placed on hold.
- Informs customers on bank procedures regarding these services: debit/ATM cards, direct deposit of checks, savings accounts, safe-deposit boxes, investment products, and internet banking.
- Able to make on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions always cautious of bank exposure to loss or fraud.
- Investigates and resolves problems and discrepancies concerning customer accounts.
- Aware of current rates at other local banks for similar products.
- Gathers information for wire transfers of funds and submits to the Deposit Operations Department.
- Works in the role of a teller when needed
- Provides basic cash receipts, deposits, and payment services in accordance with bank procedures.
- Enters daily transactions into designated banking system and identifies mistakes should the debits and credits not balance.
- Receives payments for a variety of loans (consumer, commercial, mortgage and home equity).
- Balances currency, coin, and checks in personal cash drawer at end of shift when working as a teller and reports any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds following required financial regulations and bank policies.
- Works closely with other tellers and Deposit Operations staff to resolve customer issues and discrepancies.
- Provides efficient and courteous customer service to prospects and customers.
- Answers incoming telephone calls as needed.
- Educated on bank’s security procedures and is watchful of unprotected situations.
- Opens and closes branch by following established security procedures.
- Participates in continued compliance training for relevant lending and deposit laws and regulations
- Responsible for understanding and following all internal banking policies and procedures
- Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular, punctual, and physical attendance.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum one year experience in the teller function.
- One to three years customer service and/or sales experience preferred. May consider combination of education and experience.
- Basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules and Saturdays.
- Able to learn bank products and services to explain to customers.
- Possesses proven customer service talents, and has above average oral and written communication skills.
- Professional and ethical when dealing with customers, vendors, and bank employees.
- Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive information and customer data.
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
